Hello Parents,
I have two items to share with you today. First, with your help, our 4 day Helping Hands for Haiti campaign raised $1671.97.
The money was sent to UNICEF so they can buy much need supplies for the Haitian earthquake victims. Thank you for your support.
The second item is a reminder from the yearbook committee.
This is a reminder that you can pre-order yearbooks for the sale price of $13.75. We have extended the sale through January 29th.
Please check your child's backpack for the yearbook flyer. If you need a flyer, your child can pick one up outside the school office. If you have any questions regarding the sale,
you can contact Melody Terrano at (610) 769-0006 or email her at mm.terrano@yahoo.com.
As always, if you have any concerns or questions about our school, please contact me as soon as possible.

I am sure you have heard about the horrible earthquake in Haiti. To help the victims, Mrs. Sweeney and Mrs. Marzano along with the student government are launching Helping Hands for Haiti. We will collect money to send to UNICEF. UNICEF is able to turn the donation around into aid in a matter of a few hours. UNICEF buys in bulk so our money will help more people. For example they purchase a school in a box for two hundred dollars. It includes a massive amount of school supplies. For pennies, they can purchase water purifying pills, bandages, etc. Here are the details of our program.
Dates: Tuesday, January 19th through Friday, January 22nd.
Students can bring in any amount of money and it will be placed into secure containers. The money will be taken to a bank on Friday to be counted and then sent to UNICEF. Every child who donates will get a paper hand, which they will write their name on and we will display around the school. Our goal is to get enough hands to circle the building.
Please consider helping the people of Haiti deal with this horrible disaster.
Other news and reminders
- No school on Monday in observance of Dr. Martin Luther King.
- The PTO newsletter is available on line at the following link as well as the PTO website.
http://schnecksvillepto.com/newsletter.html
- We are in the process of developing an electronic Friday Folder. There will be a link to the E-Friday Folder on the Schnecksville Website, which will contain electronic versions of all of the announcements, invitations, and other information from school and local community organizations such as Schnecksville Playground, scouts, and other Parkland athletic organizations. Our goal is to limit the amount of flyers sent home while providing a centralized location for all of the information from these valuable groups. More details will be sent in the near future.
