Clothing does NOT have to be sorted!!
We are helping Via of the Lehigh Valley raise money to support children with disabilities living in our community and families in the Schnecksville Community (see accompanying letter from Miss Gilmore for more information on this program). Via will collect your unwanted clothing for resale in Via Thrift Stores or the international clothing market to benefit populations in extreme poverty.
How you can Help…
- Fill a bag with your unwanted clothing, shoes, linens, purses, etc (nothing breakable). Items may be in any condition. For large items, such as furniture, call 610.866.6776 to arrange for a pick-up.
- Complete a Via Clothing drive receipt. Place receipt in your Bag. Keep a copy for your records; your donation is tax-deductable. (Only complete this portion if you will take the tax deduction - otherwise, no receipt is needed.)
- IRS code requires the donor to list the condition of items (good, like new, etc.) and their estimated value. Items donated must be in "good" condition to receive a tax deduction. IRS guidelines and a guide for estimating value are available on the Via Thrift Store portion of the Via web site (http://vianet.org).
- Drop off filled Bag(s) and receipt: January 19 - 29th.

THANK YOU!
11 boxes were packed up at the conclusion of the Soldier drive... 3 boxes of letters, cards and ornaments from the children and 7 boxes for the one female and two male soldiers, full of food and personal
care items. Special thanks to Student Council and Mrs. Marzano and Mrs. Sweeney for their help! Thanks to North Whitehall Township for shipping the boxes!
North Whitehall Township has adopted 3 Pennsylvania soldiers currently serving in Iraq through the non-profit organization AdoptaPlatoon.
For our Holiday project this year, the Community Outreach Committee and the Student Council have teamed up with the Township to bring holiday cheer to local servicemen and women -
our students will be writing letters and decorating holiday cards and ornaments in class. We will also be donating items for a holiday care package that NWT will pack and ship.
Please know that participation is optional; following is a list of suggested items (the list is not comprehensive; please visit the web site for a complete list). Collection dates run from December 2nd to the 10th
and boxes are located in both lobbies.
If you have any questions, please contact Nina Weiss (nweiss@ptd.net or 769.5898)
